  • I recently rooted my Windows 10/Dell XPS computer. I had avg antivirus and windows firewall installed, when the virus started up fine – real-time policy and scan did nothing.

The first time I saw the virus as a text packet / empty field began with a little meditation: “eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee) at first I n!thought it was a keyboard, so I replaced the keyboard.

virus blocked access to antivirus websites

After running a scan (Malwarebytes and AVG) and finding nothing, I tried to find another antivirus. In the process, I also found that I couldn’t connect to the antivirus blog, Microsoft, or other help sites. I get the message “Website just not found”.

I was trying to restore Windows 10 from a point-in-time restore. It didn’t complete and kept throwing an error saying the situation can’t access the file because that situation was being used by the new big antivirus.

virus blocked access to antivirus websites

I tried to restore Windows 10, but that didn’t work either. I would detect blue screen death instead of restarting the main system.

Finally, I ran the portable version of SuperAntiSpyware from the USB stick, it found the tracking cookies and removed 131 of them.

This seems to have fixed the problem with typing “eeeeeeeeeeeeee”, but I still couldn’t access disease websites.

My next attempt was to iterate through the task and handler, killing any processes I didn’t recognize Valid.

I was then able to connect to antivirus websites. I uninstalled AVG, installed Avira and ran the scan fine. No threats detected.

I skipped TDSKiller, scanned and rescanned with Avira, Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware. No threat.

Again, I couldn’t access the antivirus websites until I went through the fatally corrupted processes again.

Does anyone know what kind of virus this approach might be? I tried to just try to find ways with the suggested solutions, but nothing seems to work in practice.

Do you have any suggestions for its permanent removal? I want you to try and figure out which “process” behind the task manager is the root cause, but I was hoping someone might have seen this before and have a new solution. 🙂

  • I’ll try to get you to run a few security checks, some of which you’ve already run, but should be run while RKill is running. RKill attempts to eliminate known malicious processes to improve your security. The software can then disinfect and clean your computer. When RKill starts, it reduces the number of malicious processes, then removes inaccurate executable file associations and fixes policies that prevent us from using certain tools and accessories. When you’re done, a special log file will be displayed showing the actions that were taken while the provider was running. If there is or adware that interferes with the ability to start protection.
